MARGARET CROOM IS MAGSY

After years in tech and digital media, Margaret and her husband Mike landed on Whidbey Island during COVID and settled into a bluff-front home overlooking Camano Island the community has nicknamed “Chateau Whidbey.”

Margaret grew up in the Southwest, where gathering people around a table isn’t an event — it’s a way of life. She brought that spirit north, founding a supper club that has welcomed over 1,000 guests through curated, invitation-only evenings connecting fellow foodies. That same instinct — turning strangers into people who feel like they belong at the table — became her first book, “The Easygoing Host: Your Guide to to Hosting Relaxed and Enjoyable Dinner Gatherings“, which hit #1 in its category on Amazon the day it launched. It’s written to give hosts that “I’ve got this” ease, so they can focus on the people in front of them instead of the details behind the scenes.

It’s also why Margaret thinks of Whidbey Island’s visitors as guests, not tourists. On Whidbey With Magsy exists for the same reason the supper club does — so the people who come here, whether for one dinner or one weekend, leave feeling like they were truly welcomed, by someone who actually lives here.

Still Listening & Loving Your Podcast!

We met at one of your dinner parties earlier this year and I want you to kow I’m still out here listening to and loving your podcast. A Beautiful Setting on the Bluff, Gorgeous Views!

… saturated in a very “French Chateau” atmosphere, I was immediately welcomed, as a solo guest, and given my name tag.

I was thinking to myself, how is ALL of this so good? There was lovely banter in between, a sort of “get to know everyone”….which I truly believe helped bring us all together in the experience.
