In today’s episode, I was honored to walk with Todd Hipsher on the trail off of Coupeville’s Sunnyside Cemetery. My guest is none other than Todd Hipsher, aka the creative genius behind @PNWBirdie photography and video on Instagram and his beautiful calendars on Etsy.
You will notice that we are far from being indoors for this podcast recording. I just couldn’t interview Todd sitting in a chair indoors. We had to walk.
I will chat about Todd’s daily walks, the stories behind his favorite photos, and how his love for Whidbey Island has inspired his art and his life. Plus, he’ll share some tips for finding the extraordinary in the everyday and why creativity and nature are the ultimate dynamic duo.
So, listen in, and get ready for a soulful, joy-filled conversation with Todd Hipsher or otherwise known as PNWBirdie. Trust me, you’re going to fall in love with his perspective, his passion, and, of course, his art. Let’s dive in!

Very interesting interview with Todd Hipsher. I’ve followed his photography on Facebook for the last 9 months. I use to live on Whidbey for 40+ yrs. I’m now in Ennis, TX. I heard you said you lived in Dallas. I left Whidbey in 2021. It’s interesting to listen to new people coming to the island. I laughed several times while listening to the interview. Whidbey Island is the 2nd longest island in the United States! 🤗
It was enjoyable. Love Todd’s photography. It makes me home sick. His photography got me to visit Whidbey this spring and I’ll returned again this fall for another visit to walk trails and visit friends. 🥰
Yes, Todd is great. Actually at that time, he told me I was the only one he ever said yes to when being asked ‘can I go walk with you?’ It’s his time to be with nature and appreciate it. I am from Dallas, born and raised as well as spent time in Houston and Fort Worth. I love where I am from, but we won’t return. Our boys are in Washington and Texas needs to straighten itself out. Whidbey is a beautiful place (except the wind) and we enjoy it. When you come visit, come to one of my Supper Club events. I’d love to meet you.
